Nobody showed for the meeting Tuesday. And Nobody is really providing much help in the morning. I hate to whine, but geez. I love you guys. I love seeing your smiling faces and joking, etc. but what I really need is help. That's what MAC is. It's a service club. It gives the opportunity to do volunteer work. Without any of the work, there's really no need to be in MAC. For that reason, MAC is suspended until further notice. Feel free to still come in and use the media center, but as for an official MAC, there isn't one anymore.

We have a meeting on November 10. The media center is closed to MAC members in the mornings and afternoons. Sorry. It pains me too. But the media center is a mess! Shelves are in total disarray. Tables are crooked. Chess sets are sloppily left on tables. Trash is all over the place. This is not OK. These are the things MAC helps me with. But instead, it seems most of the mess and noise is coming from MAC members. You are now causing me more work rather than saving me work. I will let you know when I get things back in order who can and cannot come in to help in the mornings and afternoons. Sorry guys.

Remember to check here often. Use the contact tab to send me a message with your answer to this question. Would you rather I set up an EDMODO page for our MAC communication? Or continue using this site?

Remember guys, when you come to the media center to help, you are also being a role model in our school. Make sure you get permission from your teacher anytime you come to the media center. Also, make sure you are on your best behavior in the hallways to and from the media center. :)

Today we talked about straightening shelves and keeping the library super tidy. We talked about where to store our bags and folders and books when we come in to help (shelves near the 100 section... not sure? just ask me). We also discussed the importance of checking this website often. What's your favorite treat? Donuts? Cookies? Chips? Drinks? Use the contact tab at the top to let me know. The MAC Padlet site is just a link to a place where I might put some interesting or funny stuff from time to time.

Congratulations Jori Hubert. You read the post from 9/23. Next week I hope to bring donuts to lots of MAC helpers instead of Chick-Fil-A for just one :).
Several of you are doing a good job of signing in when you come in to help. Don't forget to check the poster behind the circulation desk and this website for important information. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, September 29, right after school until about 3:30. Don't miss it. You never know when I may feel like snacks.

I need help. The books are piling up. I am relying on you guys to help shelve and straighten. With this many MAC members, we should always have neat straight shelves. And most of the time we should have all the books on the shelves. Help me keep it neat. Notice the difference in the way the books are stacked on top of the shelves below.
Even though the top looks neat, look how "unstraight" the books actually on the shelves look. YUCK!
If you read this post, go to the contact Tab and send me a message saying I read 9/23.

Yesterday we had a meeting. We discussed several important things.
1. When you come in to the media center to help, I need you to sign in on the clipboard, and sign out.
2. You MUST watch the video on shelving fiction books on the videos tab.
3. You are responsible for keeping books straight and in order in your assigned section. See Poster behind Circulation Desk.
4. Check the poster and this website often.
5. I will be bringing donuts every now and then (for people who are consistently doing these things).

MAC meeting Tuesday, September 15. 3-3:30. Be there!
Your primary job as of right now is to come in and help me straighten shelves. Every day this week, from 2:45-3:00, I will be giving lessons on shelving Fiction books. So stop by if you can. Next week I will post a video demonstrating shelving procedures. In order to be approved to shelve fiction books, you must come by in the afternoon (any afternoon) and shelve the books I give you. I will watch. If you pass my observation, you will be allowed to shelve. Once I put my initials by your name on the MAC board behind the circulation desk, you may start shelving Fiction books.
There is also a clip board on the small door next to the MAC board. Any time you come in to work in the media center, you must initial the paper and put the time you arrive, and the time you leave. Even if it is before or after school.
